Australia require eight wickets to secure victory in the second Test at Kingston and secure a series win over the West Indies.

Australia need eight wickets across the final two days to clinch victory in the second Test against the West Indies and secure a series win.

The Baggy Greens began the final session at 137-1 in their second innings, 316 runs ahead of the hosts, as Shaun Marsh and David Warner put Michael Clarke's men in a commanding position.

Marsh continued his fine knock as he and Steve Smith guided Australia past the 150-run mark, but the opener was to fall for 69 when he was caught off the bowling of Veerasammy Permaul.

Smith took up the impetus and began to find the boundary with ease, continuing his excellent form from the first innings. It was not long before the 26-year-old registered a half-century off 81 deliveries.

Australia move past 200 before Clarke decided to declare, leaving the West Indies needing 392 runs to win the Test.

Denesh Ramdin's side's innings got off to a horrendous start as Kraigg Brathwaite was dismissed with just the third ball, bowled by Mitchell Starc, and his opening partner Rajdendra Chandrika lasted just a further two balls as he fell to the left-arm quick for a duck.

Darren Bravo and Shane Dowrich were unbeaten on eight and one respectively at the close, with their side needing a further 376 runs to win.
