Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza draws on the positives of his side's World Cup campaign after losing to India in the quarter-finals.

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza has expressed his belief that the fans "should be happy" with the team's displays throughout the World Cup tournament, despite falling at the quarter-final hurdle.

Mortaza's side suffered a 109-run defeat to holders India having scored just 193 runs before being bowled out with 30 balls remaining in the innings.

"The toss could have been important - we like to bat first but we can't complain," BBC Sport quotes Mortaza as saying. "A score of 300 is always difficult to chase, 280 would have been much better.

"Except this game, everyone back home should be happy. Most of the players had only played two or three ODIs before the World Cup and are just starting their careers.

"Back home they should be happy and hopefully we can carry on from here. We don't have enough experience to play in these sort of matches, but we now know how we have to play."

South Africa have also sealed a place in the semi-finals.
