Adil Rashid has revealed that he is "over the moon" to be in the England squad for the first Ashes Test against Australia.
Despite making an impact at one-day international level, the 27-year-old spin bowler is yet to be capped by the Three Lions in the Test arena.
England and Australia get the Ashes underway in Cardiff on July 8.
When asked for his reaction to being named in the England squad for the opening match of the series, Rashid told Sky Sports News: "Delighted, over the moon. I'm very excited to be part of the Ashes squad and to be just part of the team so I'm really looking forward to it.
"It's nice to be part of the squad and if I do get a heads up, I'll obviously try my best and if I don't, it's no drama. I'm still part of the squad and it's always a learning curve to be playing or not to play."
Rashid made his England debut back in June 2009 when he featured in a Twenty20 international against South Africa.
