James Anderson hails the feel-good factor within the England camp, with just two days to go before the Ashes series gets underway in Cardiff.

England paceman James Anderson has insisted that there is a "nice buzz" around the camp heading into this week's Ashes opener.

The 32-year-old will form part of England's squad for the first Test against Australia in Cardiff after missing out against New Zealand.

Anderson believes that victory over the Black Caps in a thrilling one-day series has helped provide a real feel-good factor ahead of the five-day format against Australia.

"The players are feeling really positive at the moment, there's a really nice buzz around the team," he told Sky Sports News.

"After the ODI series against New Zealand - with myself being outside of that - the way people were talking about English cricket was fantastic and hopefully that will help us with the support we get in the next five games.

"In Test cricket we've made strides in the last few months and we've definitely turned a corner. We're still not playing consistently which is why the Australians are favourites for this series, but we've made big steps in the right direction."

Glenn McGrath claimed earlier this week that Anderson could prove to be the key to England's hopes of tasting victory this summer.
