England bowler Stuart Broad visits a hospital for an X-ray on a foot injury sustained on a miserable third day for the tourists in the third Ashes Test against Australia in Perth.

Stuart Broad was sent to hospital for an X-ray on a foot injury to compound another miserable day for England in the third Ashes Test in Perth.

The 27-year-old seamer was hurt after being struck on the boot in the process of being dismissed lbw by Mitchell Johnson in the tourists' collapse to 251 all out.

England's leading wicket-taker in the series was then unable to bowl in Australia's second innings, as the hosts closed day three at The WACA on 235-3 thanks to opening batsman David Warner's century.

Broad was seen with the England coaching staff assessing the injury by attempting to bowl in the nets but never went back on the field, and a full diagnosis on his fitness is expected tomorrow morning.

Australia lead by 369 runs and will regain the Ashes for the first time in seven years by winning this Test.
