England have lost the wickets of Jonny Bairstow and Matt Prior in the first afternoon session of day three.
The hosts go into tea with a lead of 165 runs over Australia in the first Test of the 2013 Ashes series.
England added just 15 runs to their tally after lunch before Bairstow was caught behind off the bowling of Ashton Agar, sending an outside edge into the gloves of Brad Haddin.
Matt Prior came in and began to up his side's run rate, but he was dismissed when going for another big shot, being caught by Ed Cowan off the bowling of Peter Siddle.
There was good news for the hosts, however, as Ian Bell made a gritty half-century - including his 6,000th Test run - to help England to 230-6 with a lead of 165.
