Simon Jones has suggested that England have a bowling attack that can trouble Australia during this summer's Ashes series.
The hosts are looking to regain the urn after a 5-0 defeat Down Under in 2013-14, but Jones believes that Alastair Cook's side has the ability to take plenty of wickets against the Baggy Greens.
He is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "They do remind me of us. Like us these England boys can take 20 wickets, and I also know that this Australia team has not got Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne.
"We were successful in 2005 because we went after them. They were probably the best team that's ever played the game – that West Indian team of the 70s and 80s was sensational too – because they had everything.
"But we had lots of different qualities in our attack and this England team has plenty of variety now. It's not all one-dimensional."
Jones took 18 wickets during the 2005 series, which saw England beat Australia 2-1 to win their first Ashes series in 18 years.
