TV personality and journalist Piers Morgan has admitted that England captain Alastair Cook has proved him wrong by leading his side to Ashes success.
Morgan has been heavily critical of Cook's leadership over the past 18 months, and was especially riled by the continued omission of Kevin Pietersen.
However, England regained the Ashes today as they beat Australia at Trent Bridge to take an unassailable 3-1 series lead.
Morgan told BBC Sport: "All the criticism about Alastair Cook has been denounced by victory. If you win you shut up the critics - critics like me who were very vociferous.
"I'm very pleased to be proved wrong. It's a magnificent victory for England."
England have now won the last four Ashes series at home.
