Alastair Cook and Joe Root's fourth-wicket partnership of 62 helped England to a 39-run lead at tea on day one of the fourth Ashes Test against Australia at Trent Bridge.
Earlier today, Stuart Broad took eight Australian wickets as the tourists crumbled to 60 all out in less than 20 overs.
Cook and Adam Lyth saw the hosts through to lunch, but Australia soon had their first wicket in the second session as Lyth (14) edged a Mitchell Starc delivery through to Peter Nevill.
Ian Bell added just one run to the scoreboard before Starc trapped him lbw with an inswinger to reduce England to 34-2.
Starc was the only bowler having any luck and he was able to prevent Cook (43) reaching 50 as the England captain missed a full and straight delivery and was given out lbw.
Yorkshiremen Root (33*) and Jonny Bairstow (2*) will be at the crease when play resumes after tea with England 99-3.
