The ECB is disappointed with the Indian team for making misconduct allegations against James Anderson.

The England and Wales Cricket Board have expressed their disappointment in the Indian team for making allegations against James Anderson under Level 3 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

The allegations relate to what the ECB calls a "minor incident involving Ravindra Jadeja" at Trent Bridge during the first of five Tests this summer.

The ICC released a statement which said: "Anderson has been charged for allegedly abusing and pushing Ravindra Jadeja immediately after they left the field for lunch on Thursday.

"It is alleged that this was a continuation of a verbal altercation between Anderson and Jadeja as they were walking from the field."

The ECB insists that it will fully support Anderson and also call for Jadeja to be punished for wrongly accusing Anderson.

"In the light of [the news], the ECB has notified the ICC of its intention to lodge code of conduct breaches against Jadeja," read the statement.

"James Anderson categorically denies the accusations made against him and the ECB has pledged their total support for the player should he be charged by ICC."

A flat pitch in Nottingham led to the first Test being drawn.
