All-rounder Ben Stokes has been called into the England side in place of Chris Jordan for the first Test against India at Trent Bridge.
The 23-year-old was reinstated into the 13-man squad for the five-Test series after proving his fitness with county side Durham.
Captain Alastair Cook revealed the team news after India skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first.
Cook told Sky Sports News: "It looks like it is swinging after a bit of overnight rain but it looks a very good wicket. The groundsman has done a great job to try and get some pace in the wicket.
"It's a tough call on Chris Jordan but Ben Stokes has something very different and deserves his chance back in the team.
"It's going to be very much on a match-by-match basis, we'll see what happens after each match but the most important thing is winning each match we play."
Meanwhile, wicketkeeper Matt Prior has also been passed fit to feature in the opener, while India's Stuart Binny has been handed a Test cap.
