England bowler James Anderson has revealed that he is back to full fitness following the injury that ruled him out of the final two Ashes Tests this summer.
The 33-year-old played a key role for the hosts in the opening three matches against Australia, but a side strain prevented him from helping them as they regained the urn with one match to spare.
However, he insists that he is now fully fit and eager to play for County Championship Division Two challengers Lancashire during the closing stages of the domestic season.
"I am hopefully going to play for Lancashire at the end of this season, which will be good. I am fully fit now, but it was frustrating at the time," Anderson told reporters.
"I have never done an intercostal side muscle before, so I was obviously a bit worried about it.
"I have been very fortunate that in the last five years or so, I have not had an injury, so you just have to accept that it does happen and there could be a number of reasons for it to happen so you just have to deal with it."
Anderson was not named in England's ODI squad for the ongoing series against Australia, but is expected to return to the international fold against Pakistan next month.
