James Anderson: 'I still want to play in all formats'

James Anderson insists that he still wants to play in all formats of the game for England, despite being rested for the one-day series against New Zealand.

James Anderson is adamant that he still wants to play in all forms of the game for England.

The 32-year-old has been left out of the one-day squad to face New Zealand in order to rest ahead of the Ashes later this summer.

However, Anderson has revealed that he still wants to return to the format once the Ashes are over to surpass 200 appearances in one-day internationals.

"I still want to play all forms of the game," Anderson told Sky Sports News. "But it's probably sensible this year, in particular, where we have got a lot of Test cricket and with an Ashes Series coming up, that some of the guys are given a chance.

"I still see a future for me in one-day cricket, but this year, with a lot of Test cricket, I want to give that my full focus, especially with this Ashes Series, I can throw myself into that."

Anderson became England's leading wicket taker in Test cricket when he broke Sir Ian Botham's record and became the 11th bowler to take over 400 wickets in the format last month.
