England bowler James Anderson has claimed that Eoin Morgan is certain to play a key role if the team are to achieve success in one-day internationals over the next few months.
Alastair Cook's side will tour Sri Lanka to exclusively play limited-overs cricket this winter, before turning their attentions to next year's World Cup with a tri-series against Australia and India prior to the series. Anderson believes that Morgan will be a big factor despite his recent troubles on the international stage.
"He's going to be a huge player for us in the one day series in Sri Lanka and on to the World Cup," the 32-year-old stated during a commentary stint with Sky Sports.
"He's one of the most talented players I've played with and he's one of those match winners you need, especially in a big competition like the World Cup, and we're hoping for him to do well."
England will name their squad for the tour of Sri Lanka on Wednesday afternoon.
