England seam bowler James Anderson believes that England should have batted better against New Zealand.
The Kiwis ended day three of the first Test on 402-7, a lead of 235.
Anderson was left frustrated by his team's inability to score runs.
"I batted on it and thought it was a pretty good deck," Anderson told Sky Sports News.
"For me to get 20, it must be fairly flat. Most Test pitches are, and we know that.
"But we can't dwell too much on our first innings, we've got to think about batting much better in the second innings."
Anderson made his Test debut in 2003 and has gone on to play in 78 Test matches for England.
