Australia coach Mickey Arthur has claimed that England may miss Kevin Pietersen in limited-overs cricket in the future despite their recent good form.

Pietersen retired from one-day internationals and Twenty20 cricket at the beginning of this summer but England have won every game since he announced his decision.

However, Arthur believes that Pietersen's retirement could come back to haunt Andy Flower's team.

Arthur said: "Kevin's a world-class player, there's certainly no getting away from that.

"You would say they've gone seemingly well without him, because I don't think they've lost an ODI since he's gone. But down the line I think they might feel the weight of that decision, because he is a class act - and he was playing very, very well as well before it ended for him."

"At the moment they're not missing him but down the line, [I'm] not sure."

England are currently winning the ODI series against Australia 2-0, with the next match taking place on Wednesday at Edgbaston.
