Tim Bresnan has revealed that he is hoping to return to Test action for England against Sri Lanka this month.
The bowler missed the recent Test series against Pakistan due to injury but admits that he is determined to return to the side.
Bresnan told The Mirror: "When the injury happened I was doing well for England, playing good cricket and I just wanted to keep moving forward and improving my game and getting better, so to have that taken away was the worst feeling.
"If England play a four-man attack of two seamers and two spinners then it is hard to see anyone other than Jimmy and Broady doing the pace job, but maybe there is a chance to play a fifth bowler.
"By playing well I get to put myself in the mix for the first Test and that is all I can ask really."
England are currently competing against a Sri Lanka Development XI in Colombo.
