Stuart Broad insists that England need not panic, despite their loss to the West Indies in the first Twenty20 international on Sunday.

England captain Stuart Broad has urged his side not to panic following their defeat to the West Indies in the first Twenty20 international on Sunday.

The hosts made 170-3 in their innings in Barbados, to which the tourists replied with 143-9.

"The spin bowlers have taken most of the wickets and had the best economy rates but last time we played here it was different, the seam bowlers did a lot of damage so that's something we'll have to take into consideration," BBC Sport quotes the 27-year-old as saying.

"We didn't get going today but that can happen chasing a decent score. It's nothing to panic about, it didn't go our way today.

"I've got a bit of patellar tendonitis so I'm not sure I'll play the next two games to get right for the World Twenty20."

The second T20 will be played in Barbados on Tuesday.
