Stuart Broad: "This will be as big a Test as I can remember"

Stuart Broad claims that the game against South Africa is the biggest match he can remember ahead of England's attempt to level the Test series at Headingley.

Stuart Broad has refused to play down the importance of the second Test between England and South Africa at Headingley.

Andrew Strauss's men are aiming to level the Test series after defeat in the first match at the Kia Oval and Broad admits that the team were forced into having a long conversation following their performance a fortnight ago.

The fast bowler told the Daily Mail: "We talked at The Oval at the end of the game about what had just happened before we all went our separate ways and now we've had time to properly reflect on it all before trying to put things right at Headingley."

Broad has also insisted that England are not worrying about losing their status as the best Test team in the world and instead believes that they must take each game one at a time.

"This will be as big a Test as I can remember in this country and one in which we must come out firing on all cylinders," he added. "We're not thinking about our No 1 status being on the line here because it hasn't been good for us in the past to look too far ahead."

Broad is expected to become Nottinghamshire's most-capped England player on Thursday.
