Alastair Cook praises bowlers

Alastair Cook says that England's bowlers put it a great performance in this afternoon's ICC Champions Trophy semi-final victory over South Africa.

England captain Alastair Cook has described James Anderson and James Tredwell's bowling performance against South Africa as "outstanding".

The Three Lions advanced to the final of the ICC Champions Trophy with a seven-wicket victory over the Proteas at The Oval.

Anderson did the damage early on, removing Colin Ingram (1) and Robin Peterson (30), before Tredwell took three wickets - JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis and Chris Morris - to break middle-order resistance.

"It was a lot more humid today and swung in the nets on Tuesday," Cook told Sky Sports News. "It hasn't swung conventionally but when it does, [Anderson] is the best in the world.

"It was a good toss to win and Jimmy was outstanding - seven overs, two for 14 - and 'Tricky Tredders' (Tredwell) was outstanding again. To win a tournament you need everyone contributing at certain times and we've done that in this tournament.

"Trott played a great innings to see us home, Jos with some great keeping and Tredders is so reliable. It's been a good tournament so far, the support's been great with the home crowds and hopefully that will be the same on Sunday."

England await the winners of the second semi-final between India and Sri Lanka.
