England captain Alastair Cook has broken another record in Kolkata by becoming the first England player to reach 23 Test centuries.
The 27-year-old reached the feat on a day that England have completely dominated the third Test against India as they currently sit 177-1 on the second day.
Cook, who has snatched five centuries in five Tests as captain for England, steered his side to a strong advantage in their first innings along with Nick Compton, who claimed his first Test half-century but was dismissed for 57 in the evening session.
Cook has surpassed the likes of Wally Hammond and Kevin Pietersen in the number of 100s scored by an England player in a Test match and has also become the youngest ever player to reach 7,000 runs.
