England have been bowled out for 167 in the first innings of the first Test against New Zealand in Dunedin.
Jonathan Trott top scored for the tourists with a knock of 45, while Nick Compton and Kevin Pietersen were both dismissed for ducks.
Bruce Martin and Neil Wagner were the pick of the New Zealand bowlers with four wickets each.
After the opening day was rained off, Compton was the first England batsman to be dismissed before Cook (10) and Pietersen were out with successive balls by Wagner to leave the visitors on 18-3.
Ian Bell (24), Joe Root (4), Matt Prior (23) and Trott were the next to go as England spluttered to 109-7.
Stuart Broad fell for 10 before Steven Finn and Jimmy Anderson put up some resistance in the lower order.
The pair strung together a partnership on 43 runs - the highest of the day - only for the wicket of Anderson (23) to bring to a close a disappointing day for England.
