Paul Farbrace: 'England do not fear Chris Gayle'

England's bowling attack will not be running scared of Chris Gayle during the ICC World Twenty20 final, according to assistant coach Paul Farbrace.

Assistant coach Paul Farbrace has insisted that England's bowlers will not be scared of Chris Gayle when they face the big-hitting West Indian in the final of the ICC World Twenty20 this afternoon.

When the two sides faced off in the group stages, Gayle hit 11 sixes on his way to scoring a 48-ball century in a six-wicket victory for the men from the Caribbean.

However, Farbrace has claimed that the England attack will come up against the 36-year-old with plenty of confidence.

"Gayle may or may not play a similar innings again, but what we do know is that we now have enough bowlers with enough confidence to back their skills," he told Sky Sports News.

"They won't think, 'Oh he's hit me for a couple of boundaries and now I have to do something different'. You don't run in half-hearted or doubting your abilities.

"I'd be very surprised if any bowler is doubting themselves now. They've learnt quickly and they are sticking to what works."

Gayle has scored just nine runs from two innings since his match-winning display.
