Chris Jordan has claimed that England would have benefited "immensely" from appointing Sussex coach Mark Robinson.
Despite being given the chance to interview for the job, Robinson was overlooked in favour of Peter Moores, who will begin a second term in charge of the England team.
"Robbo is a very good coach and man-manager. England would have benefited immensely from his enthusiasm and passion," Jordan told BBC Sussex.
"I guess England's loss is ultimately Sussex's game.
"Robbo staying means stability at the top. Hopefully with that and the ideas he brings to the table we can really kick on and challenge for some trophies at the business end of the season."
Robinson has won the County Championship twice and led his side to four one-day trophies during his time in charge of Sussex.
