Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live text commentary of the second one-day international between England and Australia at the Oval.
England will be looking to take a 2-0 lead in the series after beating the tourists by 15 runs in the first contest on Friday at Lord's.
Michael Clarke's team have been dealt a cruel blow this morning with the news that fast bowler Pat Cummins will miss the remainder of the series due to a side strain.
Stuart Meaker has been called into the England squad as cover for James Anderson.
ENG 252-4That's all from me today and thanks for following today's live commentary. Join us on Wednesday afternoon for coverage of the third ODI at Edgbaston where Australia will be desperate to stop England's pursuit of a series whitewash.
ENG 252-4So, England win with 26 balls to spare and Andy Flower will be delighted with that.
ENG 252-4Very good performance by Alastair Cook's men. They were efficient in the field with Bell and Bopara standing out with the bat. Another good innings from Morgan too who played well for his 43 not out.
ENG 252-4England win by six wickets Morgan finishes the match in lucky fashion with an inside edge to fine leg for two runs. That's the victory and there's nothing fortunate about the result.
ENG 250-3Wicket Doherty is back into the attack but Bopara can't get him away first ball and he's gone next ball when he tries one too many sneaky singles as Brett Lee hits the stumps from mid on. Bopara was well short there but that's a well made 82.
ENG 250-3McKay is back on to bowl and a single is followed by a superb clip through square leg for four by Morgan. Six needed for England now and Morgan adds three more over wide mid on. Good call from Bopara to run a single after a nudge to point and England are made to wait for the win. McKay finishes his spell and he's been the tourists' best bowler.
ENG 241-3Only 11 runs required for England now and they have dominated from start to finish today.
ENG 241-3Lee starts his final over with a full delivery that Bopara gets away for a single. Morgan gives the strike back to his partner and Bopara defends well before pulling a short delivery for a comfortable two. A single from the final ball means Lee finishes his 10 overs with no wickets having conceded 57 runs.
ENG 236-3Hussey is back to bowl the 43rd over and Bopara is immediately off strike with a single. A paddle sweep brings Morgan two runs and these two are picking the gap brilliantly. A quicker ball doesn't do the business for Hussey as Morgan guides the final ball for four runs.
ENG 229-3Clarke hasn't had his best day as captain but his bowlers haven't done him any favours. The skipper is back on to bowl now but both batsmen are happy to take singles when they can. Bopara picks the gap at cover perfectly to get for more runs and take this partnership past 50. A single followed by a nudge to the fine leg boundary by Morgan completes the over.
ENG 218-3Lee has two overs remaining but he's lacked consistency today. Two singles are taken and Morgan then lifts one to deep third man for another. Bopara doens't time a pull but it's still worth a run.
ENG 214-3Australia have just lacked that bit of magic today, in their bowling and their batting. No player has been able to change their fortunes quickly in either innings.
ENG 214-3McKay continues and he really is putting a lot of effort in but there's no breakthrough as the England duo comfortably run five singles in the over.
ENG 209-3Easy runs on offer for these two now. These two are two of England's quicker players and eight scored from the over.
ENG 201-3Bopara eases an two runs past cover from the first ball. A dot ball is followed by a false shot by Bopara but no slip means that he gets for more runs. Three more singles mean it's nine runs from McKay's over.
ENG 192-3Australia are starting to look resigned to defeat as Morgan drives Watson's first ball of a new spell through cover for four runs. Morgan frustrates Watson again when he clips the fifth ball into the leg side for another boundary.
ENG 184-3England decide to take their batting powerplay after 35 overs and they now only need 69 more runs to seal the victory. It's McKay who is on to bowl and he immediately goes past Morgan's bat with a wide delivery. A cut for one by Morgan is the only run from the over and it's a good return for McKay.
ENG 183-3A superb drive for four follwed by a single means bopara is just one short of a half century of his own. Morgan is happy to let his teammate have the strike with a push past point for one and Bopara does reach 50 with a single from the fifth ball, good knock from the Essex batsman. Good timing from Morgan brings him two runs and it's 10 runs from the over.
ENG 173-3Bell will be disappointed to have not reached three figures but his innings has certainly put England in control.
ENG 173-3A paddle sweep to fine leg means Morgan is off the mark with two runs.
ENG 171-3Decision Overturned So close to two wickets in three balls for Clarke when Morgan misses his second ball, the umpire give it out but a review shows that Morgan got the faintest of inside edges.
ENG 171-3Wicket Clarke brings himself on to bowl and he bowls Bell with his first delivery. Too full for the cut shot that Bell tried and he departs for 75.
ENG 171-2Excellent running from these two as a push to mid on gives Bpara one run. Bell picks up another single but a full toss dispatched for four by Bopara ruins a good over from Lee.
ENG 165-2Johnson looks set to continue after the break and his struggles to continues. Runs come easy for the two batsmen and Bopara drives well for four runs, eight from the over.
ENG 157-2Brett Lee is back for his third spell and England need 98 runs to win from here. Dropped catch. Bell offers a catch to Warner at backward point but it's put down and Lee looks very disappointed. Good pace from Lee but Bell is off strike with a nudge to mid wicket and Bopara does the same. A single from the final delivery makes it three from the over and it's time for a drinks break.
ENG 154-2Johnson is back on, any more no balls today from the fast bowler? Not from the first ball anyway, he decides to bowl a wide instead this time and it hasn't been his day so far. A dot ball is followed by another wide now and Johnson does look like he's struggling so a word from Clarke could be coming. Good fielding from Bailey at cover keeps Bell on strike. A single does bring Bopara on strike and Johnson appeals for lbw but it looked slightly desperate, however Clarke decides to review the decision. Hawkeye shows the ball pitched outside leg stump so the decision remains the same.
ENG 151-2Bell is arguably one of the best players to watch when he's in this kind of form. Two singles against McKay move England to the 150 mark and a one more from the final ball means Bell moves to 69.
ENG 148-2Bopara looks happy to take the singles and Bell is brought on strike, he rushes down the wicket to hit the ball over mid on for another boundary off Doherty. A slightly ugly leg side shot gives Bell two more runs and a prod onto the leg side means it's eight from the over.
ENG 140-2England are cruising at a run rate of over five runs and now only require 112 to win.
ENG 140-2McKay has been the best bowler so far for the tourists and he's back on. Bopara immediately gives the strike to Bell and he adds a single two balls later. These two are very quick and sneak one more single.
ENG 137-2It's all a bit too easy for England at the moment. Australia do not seem to be able to build up any pressure against these two batsmen.
ENG 137-2Doherty strikes Bell on the pads but there's no chance of that being given out. A slog sweep brings Bell four more runs and he's in complete control at the moment. Doherty drops his length and Bell picks up another single but Bopara is frustrated by the field when he tries to play a couple of expansive shots. The over does finish with a Bopara single and it's six from the over.
ENG 131-2A reverse sweep from Bell doesn;t find the gap but he does get off strike next ball. Bopara looking far more relaxed and these two rotate the strike well against Hussey as they take three from the over.
ENG 128-2Singles are easily on offer for Bopara and a wide ball is followed by a push to deep cover by Bell.
ENG 125-2Another superb knock from Bell and his form this summer is exactly what England needed after ther retirement of Kevin Pietersen.
ENG 125-2Fifty David Hussey is thrown the ball by Clarke so it will be spin from both ends. Bopara gives the strike to Bell who proceeds to get down on one knee and launch a four over mid wicket to reach his half century. Bell takes a chance with a quick single that has Bopara rushing, one more means that over is worth seven runs to England.
ENG 118-2Xavier Doherty is back on and Australia need him to bowl well during these middle overs. Good drift from him but Bell shows good footwork to get off strike on the second ball. Unorthodox from Bopara as he plays a very fine sweep past the man at short fine leg and it's four runs followed by a single.
ENG 112-2Good running as Bopara takes through to the vacant fine leg position with a simple nudge. Watson drops a ball to short and Bell quickly latches onto it by cutting past the point fielder for four runs. A single from bell is followed by a guided shot to third man by Bopara and Johnson struggles to find the ball with England picking up two runs.
ENG 102-2A daredevil pigeon distracts Bopara and that's not what you need with Lee steaming in at full pace. The Essex batsman is not at his fluent best so far but he is able to give the strike to Bell who still looks in nice touch. Bopara is given the strike back and that's better from him as he pulls one through square leg for four runs. A pull from the next delivery only gives him a single this time and it's seven from the over.
ENG 95-2Watson continues his spell and Bopara has a stroke of luck as he nudges one into the air just past the Australian bowler. Certainly some encouragement for Clarke as Watson goes just past Bell's edge before the opener adds a single and Bopara repeats the trick.
ENG 92-2Brett Lee is given a chance to redeem himself after his earlier spell and Bell immediately gets off strike with a push onto the off side. Good running between the two England batsmen as they sneak two quick singles before adding another late on in the over.
ENG 88-2England are well ahead of the run rate and have the fast scoring Eoin Morgan and Craig Kieswetter to come so Clarke's men really have to find somethin special from here.
ENG 88-2Australia take the bowling play predictably after 16 overs. Wade comes up to the stumps in an attempt to glue Bell to the crease, it's good bowling from Watson who looks very accurate today. Two singles from the over.
ENG 86-2Johnson starts a new over and yes, you guessed it, the umpire signals a new ball so it's another free hit. Just a single from Bell though as he can't get the ball over mid off. Bopara's off the mark with a push through the covers for a single. Johnson ends the over well and has a hopeful lbw appeal rejected by the umpire, five from the over.
ENG 81-2Ravi Bopara joins Bell at the crease and he edges the final ball of Watson's over just short of slip. Australia need more of the same now.
ENG 81-2Wicket Trott tries to copy Bell's shot from earlier in the over but he can only find the inside edge and the ball crashes into the stumps. Not a nice looking shot from Trott.
ENG 81-1Great shot from Bell as he dances down the pitch to launch Watson's first delivery of the new over for a straight six.
ENG 74-1Johnson proves why he can be dangerous with a well directed swinging delivery that Bell keeps out well. This is much better from him and it's just three from the over.
ENG 71-1Shane Watson is given his first bowl of the day by Clarke and a single is immediately taken by Bell, who has moved to 23. A wide and a single follow but Bell nearly goes when he tries to tickle one through slip with the ball dropping just short of Wade.
ENG 67-1Johnson is back on and he starts far better this time with two good deliveries. Trott spoils the good start with three through mid wicket and then four byes are awarded down leg side. Another single and it's eight from the over.
ENG 59-1A single starts McKay's new over but there's good signs from the Aussie seamer. Trott plays a superb cover drive to pick up four runs and then plays one over gully for a single. Six from the over and Australia need to build some pressure.
ENG 53-1Trott pushes two to mid wicket from the first ball of a new over from McKay and then plays a delicate reverse sweep for four runs, really good shot from Trott. Four dot balls follow and it's six from the over, Australia will need to take a couple more quick wickets to make a real game of this.
ENG 47-1Slice of luck for Bell as McKay finds the edge but the ball flies past Clarke at slip and travels to the boundary for four runs. No more runs from the over and we're seeing some impessive bowling from McKay.
ENG 43-1Far better from Doherty as he find his line against the two right handers, only three singles on offer but England have time on their hands.
ENG 40-1Good start from McKay at Jonathan Trott as he doesn't give the new batsman an inch and it's a wicket maiden.
ENG 40-1Wicket Good delivery from McKay as he gets one to come back and hit Cook on the pads. Easy decision for the umpire and that's a crucial breakthrough for Australia.
ENG 40-0No surprise to see Johnson replaced too, the spinner Xavier Doherty will begin his spell. Not a great start though as Cook drives the first ball for four. Too full and too wide from Doherty, good fielding from Johnson then restricts Cook to a single. Bell gets off strike on the fifth ball and there's singles on offer as Cook helps himself to another.
ENG 33-0Clarke looks disappointed with his opening bowlers and rightly so, Clint McKay is now on to replace Lee. It's a good start from McKay and he has a close lbw appeal turned down due to height, two from his first over.
ENG 31-0Johnson starts his second over with another no ball and it's a repeat result as Bell drives over extra cover for four runs. Good comeback from Johnson as he gets one to go past Bell's outside edge. Johnson is struggling now as Cook hits a no ball through the cover for four more and it's another free hit. Cook doesn't take advantage this time as he actually hits his shot against his own foot and Johnson catches it. Poor over from Johnson.
ENG 18-0Not good from Australia as a wide ball from Lee is spilled by Wade and the ball travels to the boundary rope for four extras. Three more runs from the over, good start by England.
ENG 11-0Mitchell Johnson will open the bowling with Lee and there's a run out opportunity from the second ball. Bell calls for a tight single and Johnson would have dismissed Cook there if he had hit the stumps. A no ball gives England a chance with a free hit and Cook takes advantage by driving through extra cover for four runs. Good pace from Johnson but it's seven from his first over.
ENG 4-0Brett Lee will bowl the first over and he looks to have found same late movement but Cook is not interested outside off stump. The England skipper then opens the face to get off the mark with a single to third man. Lee appeals for caught behind off Bell's glove but the umpire isn't interested and it didn't seem to have much going for it. Bell is off the mark with three runs through cover and it's four from the first over.
15:39England are surely favourites but if Brett Lee can strike early and if Mitchell Johnson is at his best then England could be in for a difficult afternoon.
15:37A small amount of rain did fall during the interval and that was the reason for the slight delay. The Australian team have now emerged and are closely followed by Alastair Cook and Ian Bell.
15:29It has now been confirmed that play will not start again at the Oval until 15:40.
15:26Welcome back, play is due to resume in just a few minutes from now and what a fascinating innings it could be. Australia will have to take early wickets.
AUS 251-7The statistics suggest that the score is around par from Australia but England will fancy themselves to chase that total. We will take a quick break during the interval and return with England needing 252 to take a 2-0 series lead.
AUS 251-7One over left in the innings and it will be Dernbach to finish his spell. It's a single from the first and Lee then lofts one straight into the air but Morgan can't quite reach it for a catching opportunity. The pairing can't find the boundary and with the final delivery Lee sends the ball into the sky with Morgan catching it until he hits the ground and spills the ball. That's the end of the innings and Australia have posted 251-7.
AUS 241-7Johnson drives a Bresnan delivery at Lee and the ball is deflected for a single. Great shot from Lee the next ball as he lofts a low full toss for a big six over long on. Good work from the pairing as they run another two singles and they are both looking for the big shots, 11 from the over.
AUS 230-7Dernbach returns now and he goes full to Lee who digs the ball out well for a single. Johnson fails to hit a wide full toss from Dernbach and that's a let off for the England bowler. Dropped catch Lee lofts a slower ball towards Eoin Morgan at long on but he puts it down on the boundary and he looks as though he may have been concerned by stepping over the rope. Two more singles and it's six from the over.
AUS 224-7Much better from Bresnan, good straight bowling gives him two wickets in the over and the tail is very exposed now. Johnson joins Lee at the crease.
AUS 223-7Wicket Wade's gone as he tries to play a uniques shot over the wicketkeeper's head but he can only find Broad who takes a simple catch at short fine leg.
AUS 223-6It's a surprise to see Lee come in ahaead of Johnson but he survives the first ball with a nudge to third man.
AUS 222-6Wicket Bresnan removes Bailey as the batsman attempts a big slog and misses a straight ball that crashes into his stumps. Brett Lee up next.
AUS 221-5Five overs left in the innings and it's Broad to finish his spell. Bailey rotates the strike before Wade sneaks a single to get off the mark. Swann is picked out at short fine leg by Bailey and he looks disappointed to have missed out there. Super shot from Wade as he rocks back to cut for a boundary behind point.
AUS 213-5Matthew Wade comes to the crease but could Mitchell Johnson have had a bigger effect at this point? A single brings Wade on strike and what a start to the new batsman from Finn as it sails past the outside edge with good pace. Bailey looking far better at the crease now as he whips one off his legs for four runs. England's oer after the run out though.
AUS 206-5Wicket Cook has two seamers on now with Finn coming back on and the Middlesex bowler looks to have spilled the ball but he reacts quickly as he stumbles to hit the stumps and run out Hussey who is well short of the crease. Excellent work from Finn.
AUS 206-4Swann still looking furious with Bresnan after that dropped catch in the last over. It's Broad who bowls though but these two are looking good now and they rotate the strike well throughout the over for seven runs.
AUS 199-4Bopara is back again and Cook will be hoping for a repeat of his first spell. Big chance of a run out as Hussey turns Bailey away but Bopara can't hit the stumps and the batsmen run a single. Slightly better over for England with five coming from it.
AUS 194-4Fifty Swann returns for his second spell but Bailey immediately reaches his half century with two runs to cover from the first ball. This pairing are starting to maneuvere the ball wel and run well twice to pick up four runs from two balls to frustrate Swann. Chance as Bresnan attempts to get round to a high shot from Bailey but the Yorkshire man doesn't seem to have been too confident there.
AUS 184-4Great fielding from Morgan at point to deny Hussey four runs against Bresnan. Finn can't stop Bailey getting four runs at mid wicket though. Far better from these two in the last couple of overs, eight runs coming there.
AUS 176-4Much better from Australia but they'll need a few more to get close to the par score.
AUS 176-4Bailey goes for a big shot agiant but it drops just short of Trott in the deep. Hussey can't find the middle of the bat but does get a single on the leg side. Dernbach's variations usually help now but Bailey plays him well with a lofted four over mid on. Good comeback from Dernbach but he ends the over badly as Bailey repeats his earlier shot to mid on for four.
AUS 164-4Finn returns to the attack and Hussey slcies one over point. Expansive shot from Bailey as he powers one past mid off for four runs, Australia need more of that. Too straight from Finn as Bailey helps himself to four more runs to fine leg.
AUS 153-4Great over from Dernbach as he restricts the batsmen to just two singles, the powerplay has not helped the Australians so far and it's time for a drinks break.
AUS 151-4Australia will need around eight runs an over to reach 250 and that's not looking likely now. It's not a bad pitch at the Oval so they will be disappointed so far.
AUS 151-4Hussey does look eager to put his foot down but it's good work from Broad bowling well to the field that has been set. It's five from the over and that's good for England during the powerplay.
AUS 146-4Australia have decided it's the right time to take their batting powerplay and Dernbach will return for a new spell. The tourists will have to take advantage of these fielding restrictions and Bailey does just that as he drives straight down the ground for four runs, shot of the day for me. Dernbach shows his variations but the batsmen cope well and it's six from the over.
AUS 140-4Better from Australia as they pick the gaps in Broad's over to score four runs. One of these two may have to put their foot down soon.
AUS 136-4Good captaincy from Cook today, his management in the field has been key.
AUS 136-4Bailey moves his feet well to clip one to mid wicket and rotate the strike. Good pressure being applied by England and Swann has been superb during this spell. A single to deep extra cover completes the over.
AUS 134-4Broad is back for England and he doesn't give the batsmen much freedom with two singles coming from the over. These two will need to bat well if Australia are to post a decent total.
AUS 132-4Strange shot from Watson given the situation, he picked out Finn perfectly and gave his wicket away.
AUS 132-4David Hussey arrives at the crease with light rain and Australia's situation is starting to look gloomy too. Four runs is found at fine leg by Bailey but he's struggled today (17 runs from 43 balls).
AUS 128-4Wicket Crucial moment in the match as Watson attempts a big shot against Swann but he can only find Finn at deep mid wicket. Watson departs for 66.
AUS 128-3Bopara continues and he's doing a good job for Cook here and it's four singles from the over.
AUS 124-3Swann has a hopeful lbw appeal rejected because the ball was going on to miss leg stump. It's another great over from Swann with two singles coming from it and the England spinner has only conceded 11 runs from his five overs.
AUS 122-3Bopara is back into the attack and he brings a false shot from Bailey who looks disappointed in himself. Some rain has started to fall again but England won't want to go off now, two runs from the over.
AUS 120-3Swann continues to bowl tight at Watson but the opening batsman is finding the gaps well now and Watson moves to 62, five from the over.
AUS 115-3Good work from Finn as he keeps his lengths good with only two singles on offer for the batsman, Australia struggling to accelerate here.
AUS 113-3Swann continues after the drinks break and Bailey almost offers him a catching opportunity but the ball drops just short. No easy shots being given away and it's just a single from the over.
AUS 112-3Bopara's short spell has had the desired effect as Cook brings Finn back on. A single is clipped to Dernbach at fine leg and two more follow, it's time for a drinks break.
AUS 109-3Watson will have a target on his head now, England will fancy their chances of bowling Australia out if they can dismiss him soon.
AUS 109-3Swann bowling a good line so far, these middle overs will be crucial to the match. Australia only manage a single from the over.
AUS 108-3Bopara continues with the pairing looking watchful against him. Three singles from the 23rd over and England will wan to take charge now.
AUS 105-3Graeme Swann does come on now and this will be a testing period for Australia. Watson is certainly the key figure for the tourists and he takes two on the off side before defending the remainder of the over.
AUS 103-3George Bailey is the new batsman and he's off the mark straight away with a push past point for two. Three runs and a wicket from Bopara's first over.
AUS 101-3WicketThe risk pays off for England as Bopara finds Calrke's edge and Kieswetter takes a good low catch, big wicket.
AUS 101-2It's Ravi Bopara instead of Graeme Swann though and Watson guides a leisurely paced ball to third man for a single.
AUS 100-2FiftyDernbach is back on to replace the struggling Bresnan and he's close to a wicket when Watson drives in the air past mid wicket for four to reach his half century. Watson defends well despite Dernbach's slower deliveries, it may be time for spin soon.
AUS 93-2Broad hits Watson on the pads again but it's not given, Cook reviews the decision but DRS proves the impact was outside the line of off stump. Watson punishes England with a clip on the leg side for four, a risky single almost ends in a run out but Bell can't hit the stumps from mid on, very close.
AUS 88-2Watson moves to 42 with a single to third man and Bresnan then has Clarke reaching for a wide delivery. England haven't got their lines right enough today so far. Clarke cracks one past point for a boundary to make it eight from the over.
AUS 80-2Watson survives Broad moves one in and it hits Watson's pads, the umpire gives it but a review proves that the ball was going over the stumps. Broad looks very frustrated and it shows as he bowls a second wide ball. Three runs from the over.
AUS 78-2Broad continues and Watson flashes his blade at a wide delivery but he can't make contact. Broad strays again and it's a wide ball
AUS 77-2The bowling powerplay is taken by England and Bresnan doesn't seem to be on top form today, steady but not too threatening. Australia take six from the over.
AUS 71-2Michael Clarke is the next batsman and England will want to dismiss the Aussie skipper quickly. A no ball from Broad and Clarke pulls it for a single, free hit but Broad sends it down leg side for a wide. Take two for the free hit and Watson pushes two towards mid on.
AUS 65-2Wicket Forrest doesn't look settled now as he edges a Broad delivery and Kieswetter takes a superb catch diving towards the leg side. Superb from the wicketkeeper.
AUS 65-1Bresnan keeps it tight and tests Watson with a well directed short ball, Australia will be quietly happy at the moment. Forrest looks to have settled now and he shows good technique in the over, two singles from it.
AUS 63-1Good battle on during Broad's over and he almost snatches a wicket when Watson drags one inches away from the stumps. This pairing do well to take advantage of the gaps in the field to take six from the first five balls and Watson cracks one through extra cover to move to 36.
AUS 53-1Bresnan continues his over and it's good fielding from Morgan at point, England would love to take a wicket in the next couple of overs. Two from the over.
AUS 51-1Cook brings his players together for a huddle, which seems strange considering they've been in the dressing room for more than 25 minutes.
AUS 51-1The players are beginning to come back out now, play just moments away with it looking much brighter.
AUS 51-1England can move to the top of the one-day rankings if they win this series 5-0, a long way off but what an incentive for Andy Flower's men.
AUS 51-1Play will resume at 12:05.
AUS 51-1The covers are starting to be removed by the staff at the Oval, the players could be back on in a few moments.
AUS 51-1Watson has moved to 27 from 25 balls and Forrest is there with him on 10.
AUS 51-1It's a fairly even start at the Oval but there's no doubt that England would in charge if Trott could have held on to the catch offered by Watson.
AUS 51-1At this point, it's worth noting that the match will not be reduced until at least an hour is lost to the rain.
AUS 51-1It's the first day of July so of course we have rain to disrupt the cricket. The umpires have stayed on the field and it does just seem to be a small amount of rain clouds.
AUS 49-1Good fielding from Finn as he stops the ball on the leg side boundary, rain has started to fall at the Oval. The covers have come on but it should only be a quick shower.
AUS 49-1That's the end of the first powerplay and Australia won't be too disappointed with Warner's dismissal the only blemish. England won't want this partnership to grow for much longer.
AUS 49-1It's a fairly uneventful over from Broad and this pairing look happy to take singles, with three runs coming from the over.
AUS 46-1Broad is into the attack now and I expect a big battle between him and Watson today.
AUS 46-1Cook makes his first bowling change of the morning as Bresnan comes on for Dernbach and Watson immediately drives the Yorkshire bowler through extra cover. Watson is looking very comfortable so far and he runs a quick single. Good fielding from Stuart Broad restricts Forrest to three runs after a push past mid on. Not a great start from Bresnan and he then strays on to Watson's pads who clips one to the fine leg boundary. 12 from the over.
AUS 34-1Watson edges one just short of slip and takes advanatge to take a quick single and Forrest does the same towards fine leg. Watson is looking relaxed and guides another single, Finn struggling with his line in this over as he bowls another wide. Four runs from the over.
AUS 30-1Forrest does look nervous at the crease and he can't find a gap despite being eager to give the strike to Watson. Good over from Dernbach and it's the first maiden of the innings.
AUS 30-1Finn is back to his old tricks by hitting the bails with his hand during his action. Forrest is off the mark with a single to fine leg and Finn then strays down leg side for a slightly questionable wide.
AUS 28-1Dernbach offers a gift to Watson as he clips one through the leg side for four but he's almost gone next ball as Watson edges one towards Trott but he can't hold on. Big chance for England and Trott looks disappointed. You have to take the chances Watson offers you and he proves it by cracking two fours in successive deliveries. A dropped catch and 12 runs from the over.
AUS 16-1Warner didn't look at the races today, very scratchy during that short innings and that false shot was inevitable.
AUS 16-1Peter Forrest is the new batsman but it's Watson who is on strike and he looks happy to take his time as he eases a single to third man. Forrest decides to not offer a short at his first delivery and it's a dead ball. Good work from Finn to end the over, one from it.
AUS 15-1Wicket That was coming from Warner as the opener top edges a short delivery high into the air and Ian Bell makes no mistake with the catch to give Finn his first wicket.
AUS 15-0Dernbach starts with a full delivery and Warner swings wildly at that without moving his feet an inch. No signs of a slower ball from Dernbach but Warner is looking edgy enough against the pace. Close to a catch for Cook at mid on as Warner pulls one that lands just short of him and the England skipper can't prevent the ball from evading him and travelling for four. A single from the fifth ball means it is five from the over.
AUS 10-0A single from the first ball is followed by a superb delivery from Finn and Warner looks amazed by that delivery.
