Durham seamer Graham Onions is desperate to represent England in "one more Test" and is positive that he can make his mark if he is given another opportunity.

Seamer Graham Onions dreams of playing in "one more Test" and feels that he could cement his place in the England side, should he be given another opportunity.

The Durham bowler's last international appearance in the longest format was 15 months ago, but he has been regularly selected in Alastair Cook's squads in recent times, including in this summer's Ashes series.

Onions took 66 first-class wickets as Durham secured the County Championship title this week, but he is still seeking further England honours to add to his domestic success.

"I know that if I perform well in county cricket then I've always got a chance of playing for England," Onions told reporters. "I still feel I've got a part to play and could potentially force my way into the England side.

"I've still got a dream. I know I'm 31 now but I've still got huge aspirations to play one more Test. I'm not going to lie and say I'm going to play another 50 Tests but I want to play that one more game.

"I remember when I had my back injury, I just said 'I want one more game'. I've had that one but of course you want to be greedy and play one more. I'm convinced that if I do get into that side then I've got a chance of staying in there, it's up to myself to stay in there."

Onions, who has taken 32 wickets at an average of 29.90 in nine Tests, will be a keen listener when England's squad for the tour to Australia is announced on Monday.
