Samit Patel has earned an England increment contract for 2012-13 after appearing in today's Twenty20 win over India in Mumbai.
The match was the Nottinghamshire all-rounder's third in the short form of the game for England this year which, coupled with his appearances in the first three Tests against the same opposition, accumulated enough points to see him move past the required 20 points for a contract.
ECB national selector Geoff Miller said: "This contract reflects the contribution Samit has made to our T20 and Test teams this winter and we congratulate him on his achievement."
England tied the T20 series 1-1 thanks to Eoin Morgan's dramatic last-ball six.
