Kevin Pietersen has sent a message to the ECB with an imperious display for Surrey this afternoon.
The batsman has been embroiled in a lengthy feud with the international board over a number of issues, resulting in his absence from the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup.
However, Pietersen was keen to show the selectors what they would be missing, smashing his 45th first-class century.
The 32-year-old went on to make 163 runs off just 168 balls, hitting 20 fours and three sixes en route.
He was eventually dismissed by Sajid Mahmood, with Surrey going on to make 317.
