Kevin Pietersen has revealed that he is still looking to regain his place in the England team despite comments from two selectors suggesting that he wouldn't play again.
The South African-born batsman was dropped by the national side following England's 5-0 defeat at the hands of Australia last winter.
ECB chief executive Paul Downton had suggested that there was "no interest" in going back to Pietersen, while selector James Whittaker claimed that there would be "no way" the Surrey player would ever return.
However, the 34-year-old took to Twitter to hit back Downton and Whittaker, labelling their recent comments as "disrespectful" while pledging to regain his international place.
Pietersen scored 66 in Melbourne Stars's defeat against the Adelaide Strikers on the opening weekend of Australia's Big Bash League.
