Alastair Cook and the England team have been urged by former captain Alec Stewart to build on their impressive Test win over India.
Cook performed better with the bat as his team won by 266 runs at the Ageas Bowl, but Stewart is demanding more from the squad ahead of the decisive fourth and fifth Tests.
He told The Mirror: "The positive way his team batted in their second innings, to enable an early declaration, was good to see and showed that Cook's team are playing selfless cricket.
"England were on the ropes going into the third Test, but came out fighting.
"Now is the time to land the knockout punch and show everyone they are serious contenders again."
The fourth Test gets underway at Old Trafford on Thursday.
