Andrew Strauss has called upon his England squad to show why they are ranked as the world's number one Test team during tomorrow's match with Pakistan.

England opened up their tour of Dubai with a heavy defeat during the first Test between the two sides.

Skipper Strauss believes that England must now go out and prove the doubters wrong.

"It's how you come back from setbacks that is the true measure of a side," he told reporters.

"This gives us a good opportunity to show our resilience, our character and our fight and our hunger and all those things people associate with a good side."

Strauss made only 25 runs during his two innings in the opening Test match.
