Graeme Swann has described Ravi Bopara as "phenomenal" after the England all-rounder posted best-ever bowling figures to help England beat the West Indies by ten wickets in their Twenty20 match at the Oval.
Bopara took four wickets for just ten runs to claim the best bowling performance ever by an England player in a T20 international.
"Bopara was unplayable. He has good control these days and is developing into a fine all-rounder," said Swann, who captained his country for the first time.
"He never looked like going for any runs out there - he was phenomenal."
Despite the achievement, Bopara was embarrassed by his record-breaking figures.
"It feels quite embarrassing that I have the best figures when you've got the incredible bowlers we have in our team," he said.
"But I'm very proud to be a part of this team. We've got a very tough series coming up in India, which will test us."
England face the West Indies in their second T20 match on Sunday at the Oval.
