Stand-in England captain Graeme Swann believes that his side felt the pressure during their Twenty20 defeat to the West Indies at the Oval.
The hosts were chasing a target of 114, but four run-outs helped the visitors bowl them out for 88.
"I think we just panicked," said the spinner. "These guys are good enough to have chased down that score, but we played some poor shots and had those four run-outs, I think you've got to put it down to pressure.
"We're going to come up against a lot of wickets like that in the next 12 months (in India). I thought we were exceptional for the first half of the game, but it deserted us as soon as we started batting.
"It's been a fantastic summer and there are so many positives to take out, but we're going to learn a lot from this game. The challenges are to work out how to bat on pitches like that with spinners bowling at the top of the order."
The ECB will announce the squad for England's upcoming one-day series in India on Tuesday.
