Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes that the team need to "reconnect" during the West Indies tour following the one-day side's recent failures.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes that the Test side need to "reconnect" following disappointing spells from the one-day side.

Peter Moores's team failed to get past the group stage of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, but England have the chance to respond in the Caribbean.

In a column for The Telegraph, Vaughan wrote: "It is so important for England after the turmoil of the winter one-dayers and World Cup to reconnect with the performances against India last summer. The majority of the team is the same and the additions of Jonathan Trott and Ben Stokes should strengthen the side.

"If they can find the tempo they had against India when they played good cricket by occupying the crease with an intent to score, and bowled in great partnerships by adapting to the conditions of the day, then they should win and set themselves up for the harder series to follow against New Zealand."

England's first Test will get underway in North Sound today.
