Former Australia captain Steve Waugh has said that Australia can win this summer's Ashes series because England are 'not as good as they think they are.'

Alastair Cook's side drew their recent Test series against New Zealand after narrowly avoiding defeat in the final match in Auckland.

Meanwhile, Australia were whitewashed 4-0 in their Test series against India this week, but Waugh believes that the Baggy Greens still have a good chance of beating England later this year.

"I think England aren't as good as they think they are," Waugh told the The Sport Review.

"I honestly think we can win the Ashes. There's enough talent there, we just need some confidence in that lineup."

Australia have lost the last two Ashes series.
