Bob Willis: 'Kevin Pietersen has been a negative influence'

Bob Willis believes that Kevin Pietersen disrupts "every single dressing room" he has ever been in during his career.

Bob Willis has insisted that the ECB's decision to build a future without Kevin Pietersen shows how disruptive the batsman has been during his international career.

Pietersen's time as an England cricketer came to an end on Tuesday after it was announced that he was no longer a part of the ECB's plans.

Willis, who played 90 Test matches during his England career, believes that the decision proves that he has been a problem for captains and coaches.

"As far as playing ability you would have to say that England cannot really do without him but this shows what a negative influence they think he has been in recent years," Willis told Sky Sports News.

"Captain and team directors have all suffered because of his behaviour within that team environment.

"Let's be honest Kevin Pietersen has disrupted every single dressing room he has ever been in whether it was Natal in South Africa, Nottinghamshire or Hampshire - I don't think he has played enough games to disrupt the Surrey dressing room yet."

Pietersen is likely to divide his time between playing for Surrey and performing in Twenty20 competitions around the world.
