Former England fast bowler Bob Willis has hit out at the ECB for reportedly telling Kevin Pietersen that he won't play for England again.
Widespread reports have said that new director of cricket Andrew Strauss told Pietersen that he will not be under consideration for any international recall, just months after new chairman Colin Graves told him that he could play again if he was playing county cricket.
The 34-year-old was sacked over a year ago, after England's 5-0 Ashes defeat.
Willis told Sky Sports News: "It's incredible. He's getting one set of guides from the new chairman of the ECB and clearly the new director of cricket doesn't want him anywhere near the team.
"He's had his problems with Andrew Strauss, but differences have to be put aside when picking an England side. You don't have to like people you play alongside you have to manage them.
"But clearly the difference of opinion between Kevin and the people running England are so great it doesn't look like there is any way back for him, which is a great shame."
Pietersen scored 326 not out for Surrey against Leicestershire yesterday.
