Luke Wright wants England one-day recall

England all-rounder Luke Wright insists that he wants to shirk his reputation as a T20 specialist by earning a recall to the ODI and Test squads in 2013.

Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright has declared that he is targeting a recall to the England one-day squad following an impressive run of form for the T20 side.

Wright scored 42 runs and took two wickets to help England beat New Zealand in a T20 international on Saturday in an impressive performance with the bat and the ball.

Despite earning a reputation as a T20 specialist, Wright has insisted that he would gladly give up some of his IPL commitments to secure a return to either the ODI or Test sides this year.

He told The Telegraph: "I have huge ambitions to get back in the one-day side.

"It's quite tough to get in the top order with Kevin Pietersen, Alastair Cook, Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott to come back in. But I'd like to come into the middle order if there's no role for me at the top, and obviously my bowling might help.

"I suppose for me it's just trying to perform well in these T20s here in New Zealand and whenever I get chance try to push my case. It's something I'm desperate to do."

The 27-year-old's last appearance for England's one-day team came against Sri Lanka in March 2011.
