England beat West Indies by three wickets to take a 2-0 lead in the ODI series between the two sides.

England have taken a 2-0 lead in their ODI series with West Indies courtesy of a comfortable three-wicket victory this evening.

England made an early breakthrough when Joe Root claimed the wicket of Dwayne Smith for just five runs, Luke Wright making the catch.

Their bright start continued shortly afterwards with two quick-fire wickets, first Moeen Ali catching Kieran Powell off his own bowling before James Tredwell took a fine-handed service.

Darren Bravo was the next to go for the West Indies as he was bowled by Stuart Broad shortly before Lendl Simmons reached his half century.

Simmons was eventually sent walking as part of an end-of-innings collapse which saw West Indies lose their remaining six wickets in double quick time.

England's response got off to a solid start, but they were soon put under more pressure when Ali and Wright lost their wickets in quick succession.

Things got even worse later in the innings as England lost Michael Lumb for 39 before Joe Root went for 23 and Jos Buttler for a duck on the very next ball.

England managed to build up a solid total and began to take control of the match despite Ben Stokes and Tim Bresnan both going for four and 10 respectively.

Broad was let off on a number of occasions when he could have been caught, and it was he who struck the winning runs for the team to give them a comfortable victory in the end.
