England have the task of reaching 270 in their innings in order to win their first one-day international against the West Indies.

The tourists, who handed Moeen Ali an international debut as well as a first 50-over cap to Michael Lumb, won the toss and elected to field at North Sound.

It was a positive start for England, who were without injured Eoin Morgan, as Joe Root nabbed the first wicket of the game as Kieran Powell fell for five, with the hosts on just 19 runs.

James Tredwell also got on the board when Dwayne Smith was caught out by Joss Buttler after taking 24 runs, three of which were boundaries, from 32 balls.

England's bowlers continued to dominate as Tim Bresnan bowled out Kirk Edwards for 10, while Ali took his first wicket by trapping Darren Bravo for lbw with the West Indies on 45-4.

Following a positive opening spell, England became frustrated as Lendl Simmons and Dwayne Bravo created a strong partnership until Simmons was taken out for 65 after 94 balls.

While a number of England's bowlers were successful, it was a tough stint for Chris Jordan, who conceded 67 runs in nine overs, in one of which he delivered three wides in a row.

The late surge from the hosts ensured that they reached 50 overs with Bravo unbeaten on 87.
