Graeme Swann takes 10 wickets overall as England win their Test series against New Zealand.

England recorded a 247-run victory over New Zealand at Headingley this afternoon to win the series between the two nations 2-0.

In what was a rain-affected final day in Leeds, play got underway 45 minutes late with the hosts needing four wickets to seal the win.

The Kiwis returned to the crease on 158-6, but they soon lost their skipper Brendon McCullum just four runs later when he was caught and bowled by Stuart Broad for two.

The captain's exit brought Doug Bracewell into bat and between him and Tim Southee, they started to frustrate the England bowling attack by putting on a 50 partnership.

However, just before the wet conditions forced the players off the pitch for just under three hours, Swann claimed Southee's wicket for 38 when he edged a spinning delivery to Jonathan Trott in the slips.

When the teams returned at 3pm, Swann quickly got himself among the wickets again as a combination of bat and pad saw Ian Bell get down low to dismiss Bracewell with the Kiwis on 220-9. In doing so, Swann had become the first spin-bowler to record a 10-wicket haul at Headingley since Derek Underwood in 1972.

Following a succession of maiden overs, captain Alastair Cook turned to the pace of James Anderson and his swinging delivery forced Trent Boult to edge the ball into the gloves of Matt Prior to wrap up the win.
