Stuart Broad rattles through New Zealand's top order

Stuart Broad takes five wickets in the hour leading up to lunch to leave England closing in on victory against New Zealand.

Stuart Broad claimed five New Zealand wickets to put England in command of the Test match between the two nations at Lord's this afternoon.

The home side started day four on 180-6, but they were only able to add 33 more runs before they bowled out by the Kiwis, who were left with a victory target of 239.

However, despite having a realistic score to reach, New Zealand struggled to cope with the pace of Broad. He claimed the wickets of Peter Fulton (1), Hamish Rutherford (9), Kane Williamson (6) and Ross Taylor (0). When Williamson headed back to the pavilion, the tourists were left on 21-4.

It would get even worse for them before the break when James Anderson followed up his five-for in the first innings by producing an outswinging delivery to Dean Brownlie, who could only edge the ball into the gloves of Matt Prior.

Then, just when it looked as though skipper Brendon McCullum was going to get his side through to lunch, he was trapped lbw by Broad for eight runs. That meant that Broad had taken five wickets in just 5.4 overs.

When the players return after the break, England need four wickets to win, while New Zealand require 210 runs.
