England wrap up a one-day international series win with a match to spare courtesy of an eight-wicket win over the West Indies at the Kia Oval.

England have won their one-day international series against the West Indies with one match remaining courtesy of an eight-wicket victory at the Kia Oval this afternoon.

The touring Windies struggled to form any real partnerships during their innings, with only the returning Chris Gayle (63) and Dwayne Bravo (77) making a real impact on the scorecard.

England headed into their innings knowing that 239 runs would seal a sixth consecutive series victory at home.

The home side's reply started positively thanks to openers Alastair Cook and Ian Bell, both of whom reached their half-centuries.

Bell eventually fell for 53 runs when he was caught by Gayle from close range.

However, Cook continued to add on the runs alongside Jonathan Trott. The skipper eventually claimed his century, before being dismissed for 112 runs when he was caught by Lendl Simmons.

Ravi Bopara replaced Cook at the crease and he went on to strike the winning runs as he ended the match unbeaten on 19.

The final match between the two nations will take place at Headingley on Friday.
