Pakistan reach 148-5 at tea on day one of the third Test against England in Sharjah.

England have continued their solid progress on day one of the third Test against Pakistan by taking three more wickets prior to tea.

The Green Shirts, already ruing the loss of Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez in the morning session, could only reach 148-5 in Sharjah.

James Anderson claimed 2-8 from 10 overs to maintain England's impressive start, while Stuart Broad was 1-1 from eight overs as he ended Shoaib Malik's innings.

Malik could add just 38 runs before becoming the first to fall in the afternoon session, followed by Younis Khan (31) and Asad Shafiq (5).

Pakistan were able to pile on a few more runs prior to tea thanks to captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who is currently 26 not out, and Sarfraz Ahmed alongside him on 19.

Pakistan need only a draw in the third Test to win the series.
