Bangladesh have a slight edge in the second Test against England after ending day two with a lead of 128 runs after reaching stumps on 152-3.

Bangladesh have the edge in the second Test against England after reaching stumps with a lead of 128 runs after day two in Dhaka.

The hosts left the field on 152-3 in their second innings after an impressive display by Imrul Kayes and Mahmudullah with the bat.

Kayes scored his fourth Test half-century and remains unbeaten on 59 runs, while his batting partner Mahmudullah hit 47 before getting sent back to the pavilion.

England began the day with the bat on 50-3, with Joe Root and Moeen Ali leading the attack, but the dismissals of Ali (10) and Ben Stokes, who was ousted for a duck, swung the momentum in Bangladesh's favour.

After a disappointing first Test, Root put in a better showing as he hit 56 runs before being trapped lbw by Taijul Islam, while Chris Woakes was the next highest scorer on 46.

The tourists were eventually bowled out for 244, and their lead of 24 runs was swiftly surpassed by Bangladesh, but there was some joy in the field as Stokes dismissed Mominul Haque for one and Zafar Ansari nabbed his first ever Test wickets by taking out Tamim Iqbal (40) and Mahmudullah (47).
