England are bowled out in the morning session of the third day of the second Test for 242, losing seven wickets before lunch, to trail Pakistan by 136 runs.

England have collapsed in the morning session on day three of the second Test by being bowled out for 242, losing seven wickets for 60 runs before lunch.

The Three Lions began the day on 182-3 with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow unbeaten at the crease on scores of 76 and 27 respectively.

After guiding the total past the 200-run mark, Root was to fall for 88 when he edged behind trying to drive Wahab Riaz and was caught behind by Sarfraz Ahmed.

Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler fell cheaply to the left-armer to leave England in trouble at 216-6, while Bairstow was fortunate to receive a reprieve after he was caught at slip off the bowling of Yasir Shah, only for the third umpire to overturn the decision on review.

Adil Rashid was the next to depart for the Three Lions when he played a loose shot off Shah to be caught at cover by Mohammad Hafeez, and Bairstow's difficult session ended as he was lbw to the leg-spinner for 46.

Shah then snagged another wicket in controversial circumstances as Mark Wood was given out on review, despite believing that he had not hit the ball when he was caught at slip by Younis Khan.

James Anderson survived an appeal just before the end of the session when his sweep shot hit the leg of Hafeez, who caught the ball on the rebound. However, the umpires' call on the field was not out and a review could not overrule the decision.

However, Anderson departed in the next over as he was caught behind off the bowling of Imran Khan for four to leave England all out for 242, 136 runs behind Pakistan's first-innings total.
