Four wickets from James Anderson have helped England seize control of the fourth Test match with South Africa.
England resumed the day on 260-6 and although the lower order failed to contribute, an excellent knock of 99 from Jonny Bairstow took England to 362 all out.
It was then the turn of the bowlers, and Anderson required just three balls to remove Dean Elgar for a duck, setting Joe Root's side on their way to a dominant day in the field.
Toby Roland-Jones continued his good form by dismissing Hashim Amla for 30, and only Temba Bavuma registered more runs before he was bowled by Anderson for 46.
The Lancashire seamer - playing on his home ground at Old Trafford - ended the day with figures of 4-33 while Stuart Broad and Moeen Ali registered 2-45 and 2-57 respectively.
South Africa currently trail by 142 runs, with Morne Morkel and Duanne Olivier left to try to close the deficit when they return to the crease on Sunday morning.
