England end day four needing 238 runs with eight wickets in hand to win the third and final Test match against Pakistan.

England bowled out Pakistan during the evening session on day four of the third and final Test against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, which has left Alastair Cook's men a target of 284 runs to win the match and level up the series.

Pakistan resumed after tea on 319-8, and they went on to add 36 more runs to that score before Asad Shafiq (46) was bowled by Stuart Broad and Wahab Riaz (21) was run out by a combination of Ian Bell and Jonny Bairstow.

England's run chase got off to a steady start courtesy of Cook and Moeen Ali, but their partnership was broken up with 34 runs on the board when upon review, the latter was given out lbw to Shoaib Malik for 22.

The removal of Ali brought Bell to the crease and his negative form of late soon continued when he was bowled for a duck by Malik. The 33-year-old has now been dismissed for 0 or 1 on nine occasions in 2015, which is the second highest in Test history.

Joe Root (6*) came in and survived one lbw scare, but between him and skipper Cook (17*), they got England through to the close of play on 46-2.

As a result, when the two teams return for the final day tomorrow, the tourists require 238 runs to win, while Pakistan need eight wickets.
