Pakistan have moved 74 runs in front of England after the third day's play in the final Test in Sharjah.

England started the day four down and just 12 shy of the Pakistani total, but they were only able to add 84 runs before being bowled out in the afternoon session with a lead of 72.

Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali nudged Pakistan towards levelling the match before tea and then in the evening it was Hafeez who continued to frustrate England's bowlers.

The opener finished the day on 97 not out, with night-watchman Rahat Ali still waiting to score.

England's first wicket of the second innings was a calamitous one from Pakistan's point of view as Hafeez and Azhar got in a mix-up before the latter was run out for 34.

James Anderson then got rid of Shoaib Malik for a golden duck before Stuart Broad trapped Younis Khan lbw for 14.

With the light fading Hafeez and Rahat hung on in the closing stages as Pakistan finished the day 146-3.
