Glamorgan secure a two-run win over Somerset via the Duckworth-Lewis method in the T20 Blast, after rain struck six overs into the Welsh side's innings.

Glamorgan clinched a two-run win over Somerset in the T20 Blast via the Duckworth-Lewis method, having batted for just six overs in Cardiff this afternoon.

The visiting side made a poor start to their innings as Marcus Trescothick was out for a duck, while fellow opening James Allenby followed soon after as Wayne Parnell claimed both wickets to reduce Somerset to 15-2.

Glamorgan continued their strong performance with the ball as Craig Meschede restricted Peter Trego to just seven runs.

Tom Cooper and James Hildreth started to get Somerset back into contention, though, adding almost 50 for the fourth wicket before the latter was bowled for 28.

Cooper finished the innings 84 not out off just 40 balls, but Dean Cosker ensured that he did not get chance to form another partnership, claiming 2-30 late on to restrict Somerset to 159-5.

The home side made a bright start to their reply, but Meschede's innings of 18 off just eight balls was cut short when he edged a Sohail Tanvir ball to slip.

Jacques Rudolph and Colin Ingram started to build a promising partnership, but their progress was halted at 43-1 just six overs into the innings when rain started to fall.

The rain meant that the match could not be restarted, but the home side had already done enough to claim a two-run win after the Duckworth-Lewis calculation.
